# Leading Through AI
There's no waiting this one out.
Whether or not your organization uses AI, it is already changing the work around you: what your team worries about, how scams reach your inbox, and how fast funders and clients expect you to move. You don't need all the answers. You do need to make an active choice, say it out loud, and work toward it.

For leaders of small teams
## Leading Through AI
There's no waiting this one out.
- 1 Yes, it's a bubble. Prepare anyway. Today's AI names may change. The way your team works is still going to change.
- 2 Your team's already talking. Get ahead of the worry. Say where you stand, even if it's "I don't know yet."
- 3 Train for AI attacks now. You don't have to use AI to be targeted by it. Scams just got a whole lot more convincing.
- 4 The pace has changed. From grant applications to client expectations, the bar has moved whether or not your team has adopted AI.
- 5 Decide what to stop doing, today. AI helps you do more, more easily. Your priority should be to focus your team's effort and identify what is no longer worth doing.

## How to use it
### Invest in skills, not vendors
Clear instructions, checking outputs, and knowing what good looks like are universal. The tools are interchangeable.
### Bring it up at your next huddle
Share what you know, what you don't and when you'll update the team. Ask what they've heard and what worries them. Then follow up.
### Run a 20-minute scam drill
Show an AI-written phishing email and a cloned-voice call. Set one rule: confirm any request for money or data through a second channel.
### Time one process people feel
Pick something funders or clients notice, like a grant draft or intake. Map it, find the waits, and run one PDSA cycle to cut the time.
### Hold a "stop doing" session
List the reports, meetings and steps that repeat. Ask who uses each one. Stop one thing a month and track the hours you get back.
## Why it matters
Whether you engage now or wait, the choice is yours. Make the decision, be clear, then work toward it. Teams handle uncertainty better than silence, and the leader who names the change early gets to shape it.
## Go deeper, free
How People Move Through a Change is a free, self-paced course, roughly 35 minutes, no sign-in. Learn the three stages people move through, name what is ending and what stays before you sell what is new, and respond to where each person is.
