Make a pledge you can keep
Replace reassurance with a specific, written commitment.
People rarely build a skill they believe will replace them. "AI won't take your job" sounds like a forecast, and part of it sits outside your control. A scoped pledge covers only what you control: gains from this program won't be turned into job cuts, roles will be redesigned with the people in them, and unrelated cuts will never be blamed on AI.
Put it to work
- Publish the pledge in writing before any pilot begins.
- Skip promises you can't keep, like permanent employment.
- Repeat it at every phase, especially when use becomes required.
